About Me

Some information on Andrew R. Tucker

Now retired from working for large corporations, my formal education includes a BS in Management and an MBA in Finance. I was first introduced into the world of woodworking in 1983 by my father-in-law, Gunther Strohbach, who built his furniture true to his German heritage. Through him I have developed a deep appreciation for fine, old world, craftsmanship. Upon his death, I continue to develop my skills through contacts with others, books, periodicals, and the best teacher of all - practical experience.

While I can produce many forms of furniture, my preference is in the Maloof style rocking chairs. Rocking chairs are one of the more difficult pieces of furniture to complete; however, the form and function of these rockers is simply gratifying.
